Wern is a small family run farm which has a flock of rare breed Vendeens. These originated from the Vendee region of France and many moons ago the local French sheep were crossed with the Hampshire Down producing a sheep suited to the French meat market. Wern sells full or half meat boxes (lamb and hogget) direct from the farm. These are available at certain times of the year. Enquiries welcome. Local delivery may also be available – please enquire. The meat is homebred, slow grown on grass and is full of flavour. They also produce a lovely sheepskin rugs and have a fleece suitable for weaving and spinning – please contact me regarding availability. It has never been more important to know where your food comes from. I am passionate about what I do and the sheep within the flock both as individuals and as a flock. Their care and welfare is of the upmost importance and Wern is proud that the animals here are raised to the highest of welfare standards. A healthy flock is a happy flock.
