About Our Farm
Ivy Cottage Pedigree Ryelands — Heritage old Season Lamb
At Ivy Cottage, we raise our Pedigree Ryelands with the same quiet care that has defined this traditional British breed for centuries. Our lambs spend their lives grazing freely across rich, green pastures — a slow, natural upbringing that allows them to mature at their own pace and develop the deep, distinctive flavour that true grass-fed meat is known for.
The Ryelands are one of Britain’s oldest native breeds, famed for their gentle nature and fine wool, but it’s their succulent, heritage-quality meat that truly sets them apart. Each lamb benefits from a natural, pasture-based diet — no concentrates, no shortcuts — resulting in tender cuts marbled with a subtle sweetness and a richness that reflects the land they come from.
Our heritage old season lamb embodies the best of traditional farming: sustainable, slow-grown, and full of character. Every joint and chop tells the story of careful stewardship, respect for the breed, and a deep connection to the fields that sustain them.
Grass-fed. Naturally reared. Rich in flavour — the way lamb should taste.
We sell meat from the farm and we are currently developing some amazing mutton Biltong.
